EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
Sunflower U-Pick
Find yourself in over 25 acres of sky high sunflowers throughout Grandpa Tiny's Farm. General admission to the Frankenmuth Flower Festival includes access to the flower fields. Guests can each pick one sunflower to take home with them. (Pro Tip: Pick the ones that haven't bloomed yet. They will open up when placed in water at home!)
Dinner in the Sunflowers
Enjoy an expertly crafted, multiple course meal with your friends in a shaded, private sunflower field. Paired with delicious wines and Michigan-made food by our friends at Bavarian Inn Restaurant, this exclusive, limited-ticket event is one you don't want to miss.
2026 Menu:
First Course:
Heirloom tomato and burrata salad with arugula, basil oil, grilled sourdough croutons, aged balsamic served with artisan rolls
Second Course:
Grilled steak medallions with MI cherry port reduction
Pan seared garlic shrimp set inside linguine pasta nests with sunflower pesto and charred sugar snap peas
Vegetarian Option:
Linguine pasta nests with sunflower pesto and charred sugar snap peas, grilled root vegetables
Dessert:
Sun Kissed blueberry lemon cake with lemon glaze and blueberry whipped topping
Choice of red or white wine and non-alcoholic beverage
Sunflower Fun
Color Run
Run through the scenic countryside of Grandpa Tiny's Farm. The route will take you winding through the sunflower fields, over the Black Iron Bridge, and more. At the end of the run, join in the color party, where your exclusive race shirt will get showered in color to help you remember the day.
Participants get a special t-shirt and finishers medal if signed up by July 17th.
Crafting in the Sunflowers
Grab your friends and join us for a fun day crafting or painting in the sunflowers! Lee Ann from Wild Daisy Creative is offering crafting classes. All instructions and supplies are included in this take-home-with-you crafting class.
2026 Classes Offered:
Soap-making: Learn the full cold process soap-making method to craft your own gentle, natural bar soap from scratch. You'll go home with a mini batch of soap (approx. 3-4 bars), reusable mini soap mold and a printed recipe card to recreate your batch at home.
Embroidered Necklace: Learn two basic embroidery stitches while creating a unique sunflower necklace or keychain.
Faux Stained Glass Earrings: Learn how to work with UV resin and water soluble transfer paper to make a unique pair of faux stained glass earrings with hypoallergenic hooks.
Suncatchers: Choose from a selection of resin pieces like butterflies, circles or crescent moons, with mini sunflowers and other beautiful flowers then arrange your charms, prisms and assemble your own unique suncatcher.
Pressed Flower Necklace and Earrings Jewelry: Lots of different flowers and greenery to choose from, as well as a variety of gold or silver shapes and styles.
Yoga in the Sunflowers
Yoga in the Sunflowers is led by Sarah Nelson (leader/owner of Midland Yoga Collective) on all three days of the Frankenmuth Flower Festival! Participation is free with your festival admission ticket (General Admission or Special Event Ticket). No special signup needed, just show up at one of the yoga times.
Options are always given for all bodies and abilities, and beginners are VERY welcome.
